What Kind of Leader Does TPP Need?
Must not be associated with any traditional political party.
Must be educated, thoughtful, and visionary.
Must have a genuine desire to work for Punjab’s progress.
Must be young, responsible, and honest.
Must understand the problems faced by the people.
Must be fully committed to TPP and Punjab.
If you know a qualified person in your constituency, submit their name to TPP.
Legal Eligibility
- Must be a citizen of India.
- Must be at least 25 years old.
- Must be registered in the relevant electoral roll as required by law.
- Must not be legally disqualified from contesting an election.
- Must meet the applicable legal requirements when contesting a reserved constituency.
- Must accurately disclose assets, liabilities, education, and criminal cases during the nomination process.
Final legal eligibility will be determined according to the Election Commission of India and applicable election laws.

- Must be educated, thoughtful, capable, and visionary.
- Must be honest, responsible, and have a clean public image.
- Must be committed to the interests of Punjab, Punjabi, and Punjabis.
- Must live in the constituency or have a strong grassroots connection with it.
- Must understand local issues through regular engagement with residents.
- Must remain free from drugs, corruption, bribery, and criminal intimidation.
- Must not spread hatred based on religion, caste, or community.
- Must respect women, senior citizens, farmers, workers, and young people.
- Must maintain full transparency regarding income, assets, businesses, and personal interests.
- Must agree to remain accessible to the public and publish an annual performance report after being elected.
- Must follow TPP’s constitution, discipline, and Punjab-focused policies.
- Must provide a written commitment not to change parties or misuse public office for personal benefit.
Important: Indian law does not prescribe a minimum educational degree for becoming an MLA. However, TPP may give importance to education, knowledge, ability, honesty, and public service during its internal candidate-selection process.
